Head - Purchase - Industrial Products

Role Overview:

The Purchase Head will be instrumental in defining and executing the overall procurement strategy for the organization, ensuring optimal value delivery across all purchasing activities. This leadership role involves spearheading strategic sourcing initiatives, cultivating robust vendor relationships, and implementing best practices in supply chain management.

The incumbent will collaborate closely with various internal business units, senior management, and finance teams to align procurement objectives with overarching business goals, ultimately driving significant cost efficiencies, enhancing operational resilience, and contributing directly to the company's profitability and competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

- Formulate and execute comprehensive procurement strategies to secure optimal pricing, quality, and delivery for all goods and services, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

- Lead the end-to-end strategic sourcing process, including market analysis, vendor identification, evaluation, selection, and complex contract negotiations to establish mutually beneficial partnerships.

- Drive aggressive cost reduction and value engineering initiatives across all spend categories, implementing innovative procurement techniques and leveraging economies of scale.

- Oversee the efficient management of inventory levels and logistics, collaborating with operations teams to ensure uninterrupted supply chain flow and minimize carrying costs.

- Establish and maintain robust vendor performance management frameworks, fostering strong relationships and driving continuous improvement in supplier quality and service delivery.

- Develop, mentor, and lead a high-performing procurement team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous professional development.

- Implement advanced supply chain analytics and reporting mechanisms to monitor key performance indicators, identify trends, and inform strategic decision-making for future procurement initiatives.

- Proven expertise in developing and executing strategic sourcing frameworks, demonstrating a track record of significant cost savings and value creation.

- Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills, capable of structuring complex agreements and fostering long-term, mutually beneficial vendor relationships.

- Deep understanding of supply chain dynamics, inventory optimization techniques, and logistics management within a multi-faceted business environment.

- Strong leadership capabilities with a history of building, mentoring, and motivating high-performing procurement teams to achieve ambitious targets.

- Advanced analytical acumen, including proficiency in supply chain analytics, budgeting, and financial modeling to drive data-informed procurement decisions.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and external partners.

- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration, preferably complemented by an MBA from a reputed institution.
