Position Overview:

The Head - Purchase will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing procurement strategies for raw materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery. With extensive experience in global sourcing and raw material procurement, the ideal candidate will lead the purchasing team, develop supplier relationships, and align procurement practices with organizational goals. The GM Purchase will oversee the procurement of chemicals across various categories, including amines, solvents, petrochemicals, and fatty acids, both domestically and globally.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Strategy & Execution:

- Develop and implement effective procurement strategies for raw materials to ensure uninterrupted supply at optimal costs.

- Evaluate market trends, pricing dynamics, and demand forecasts to make informed purchasing decisions.

Global Sourcing:

- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with international suppliers to source chemicals efficiently.

- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and logistics requirements.

Raw Material Purchase:

- Oversee procurement processes for chemicals such as amines, solvents, petrochemicals, and fatty acids.

- Maintain strong relationships with domestic and global suppliers to ensure high-quality materials and reliable delivery.

Supplier Management:

- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with suppliers for long-term collaboration.

- Conduct supplier audits to ensure adherence to quality standards and ethical practices.

Cost Management:

- Monitor and control procurement budgets to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.

- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with vendors to maximize value.

Team Leadership:

- Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team to ensure high performance and professional growth.

- Foster collaboration across departments to streamline procurement processes.

Compliance & Risk Management:

- Ensure procurement activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

- Identify and mitigate risks associated with supplier dependency and market fluctuations.

Reporting & Analytics:

- Prepare and present regular reports on procurement performance, cost savings, and supplier evaluations.

- Utilize data-driven insights to optimize procurement operations.

Education - B.E./B.Tech, preferably an MBA in supply chain Management with 15- 20 years' experience in procurement in the chemical Industry
