Hack2Skill is one of Indias fastest-growing tech engagement platforms, connecting developers, startups, corporates, and government bodies through hackathons, accelerators, and innovation programs. We recently co-hosted Agentic AI Day 2025 with Google Cloud India, which entered the Guinness World Records. We are scaling globally and need a communications leader to build and own our voice.
Key Responsibilities:
Public Relations & Media (PR):
- Build and manage relationships with tech journalists, mainstream media, and ecosystem publications.
- Secure consistent media coverage for Hack2Skill events, partnerships, and milestones.
- Draft, review, and release press releases, media statements, and thought leadership articles.
- Manage crisis communication, ensuring the company narrative remains intact.
- Maintain and expand a comprehensive media contact database.
Strategic Communications (Lead Media Authority):
- Serve as the Lead Media Authority (LMA) for Hack2Skill custodian of all internal and external communications.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive comms strategy aligned with Hack2Skills growth roadmap.
- Shape positioning narratives for multiple stakeholders (startups, enterprises, government, academia, developer community).
- Amplify Hack2Skill founders personal brand presence alongside corporate brand.
- Support investor relations communication, including decks, milestone announcements, and media coverage.
Content, Storytelling & Digital Presence:
- Define and maintain Hack2Skills brand tone-of-voice across all platforms.
- Supervise creation of blogs, newsletters, LinkedIn campaigns, website updates.
- Drive storytelling by highlighting success stories from hackathons, startups, and partnerships.
- Oversee content calendar for digital and social channels.
Community, Partners & Event Communications:
- Work with corporate partners, universities, and government stakeholders to co-create communication strategies.
- Design and execute event-specific communications (pre-event buzz, live coverage, post-event amplification).
- Ensure consistent branding across all events and collaborations.
Team Leadership (with Interns/Associates):
- Manage a small team of interns/associates:
- Social Media Intern: execute daily posts, live event updates, reels.
- Content Intern: draft blogs, case studies, newsletters.
- Research Intern: media monitoring, coverage reports, competitor scans.
- Mentor and upskill interns while ensuring strategic consistency in their output.
Internal Comms:
- Align leadership and operations teams through effective internal communication.
- Build communication playbooks for major Hack2Skill events and programs.
Ideal Candidate:
- 7-12 years of experience in PR, communications, or media (tech/startup ecosystem preferred).
- Proven media relations experience with strong contacts across India (global exposure is a plus).
- Skilled at managing comms for large-scale events and high-profile partnerships.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills with an ability to translate complex ideas into simple narratives.
- Crisis communication expertise ability to handle pressure and fast-moving narratives.
- Experience mentoring interns/juniors and building a team.
