Executive Search Mandate | Head Project Operations

Bengaluru | Multi-State | Field-Intensive Leadership Role

We have been retained on an exclusive mandate by a nationally ranked, high-impact philanthropic institution managing a 200250 Cr multi-state portfolio across 14+ states.

We are seeking a senior execution leader who can operate at the intersection of strategy, government systems, and on-ground delivery.

Role & responsibilities:

- Full Lifecycle Ownership: Lead projects from Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) through Project Implementation Plans (PIPs) planning, execution, monitoring, financial management, and formal closure across multi-thematic, multi-state portfolios.

- Strong Field Presence: Spend 60% of time in the field (minimum 10-12 days per month), visiting project sites such as lakes, schools, rural clusters, skilling centres, and healthcare facilities.

- District-Level Liaisoning: Build and sustain strong working relationships with District Collectors, Zilla Panchayat CEOs, BBMP officials, and line departments (Health, Education, Forest, Rural Development, etc.).

- Outcome Orientation: Shift the organisation from activity-based reporting to impact-driven measurement, defining clear KPIs (e.g., liters of water conserved, learning outcomes improved, livelihoods enabled).

- Partner Management: Lead and manage a network of NGOs, implementation partners, vendors, and consultants; define SLAs, conduct due diligence, and ensure performance accountability.

Preferred candidate profile:

- Experience: 8+ years in the development sector, with 8+ years in senior leadership roles managing complex, multi-state programs.

- Education: Masters degree in Social Work / Development Studies / Rural Management from reputed institutions such as TISS, APU, IRMA (preferred).

- Sector Expertise: Strong exposure to Environment (Water/Climate) or Education or Rural Development.

- M&E & Donor Reporting: Working knowledge of monitoring frameworks and donor compliance is a strong advantage
