Company: Leading Renewable Energy major in Bangalore Location: Bangalore Role: Senior Development Manager / Project Development Manager Reports to: Head of Project Development & Commercial Management (Wind), India Job Summary: As a Senior Dev Manager / Project Dev Manager in solar/wind/renewable energy, you will be working on the Origination and Development of Projects. You will be responsible for bringing the project to a fully consented stage ie. up to the ready to build status ("RTB"). This would include all the initial due diligence related to acquiring the land, permits and related approvals, removal & resettlement of existing users/encroachments, Land/RoW for electrical collection system & the transmission line to grid utility. You will also be responsible for securing land for the project substation and ensure all the necessary permits and approvals related to the Grid/ Interconnection are in place. Thereafter, you will be working closely with the construction team to bring the project to a commercial operation stage. We are currently looking for a Senior Dev Manager / Dev Manager to be based in Bengaluru, India with the following requirements: Job Responsibilities: a. Experience in carrying out Project Development activities for greenfield development of Renewable Energy projects. b. Should be able to manage end-to-end responsibilities of project development to bring the project to a fully consented stage/Ready to build status. c. Work closely with the project team involving investment, business development, legal, engineering, legal, construction and asset management function. e. Support the project team during the construction phase of the project on all development related activities. f. Possess hands-on experience in Land Acquisition related activities such as carrying our site feasibility studies, identifying most optimum site for project installation, understanding on the Land due diligence process, familiarity with land acquisition policy framework including land-ceiling acts, conversion to non-agricultural use, forest land approval process etc. g. Experience in managing various types of Permits, Licenses and Approvals (PLAs) required for setting up, construction and commissioning of a Renewable energy project. h. Should understand the prevailing policy framework pertaining grid connectivity and related studies. i. To finalize contracting arrangements for development services and finalize the most optimum contracting structure in consultation with Engineering, Procurement, Project Finance and Legal departments. j. Ability to coordinate with Project Finance department as well as Lender's and their Advisors for timely project due diligence and disbursements. Prepare Development budget and plan and ensure that development activities are completed. l. Proactively identifies and manages potential risks and opportunities of the project. m. Coordinating planning applications and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs). n. Procuring and negotiating lease agreements, development agreements and purchase agreements. o. Meet and liaise with local developers, service providers (such as due diligence consultants), relevant authorities, and other stakeholders both on specific potential projects and in ordinary course of business to maintain relationships. p. Develop and leverage a network of professional relationships with local developers, relevant regulatory agencies and industry participants. q. Assist on due diligence or development opportunities including the selection, appointment, and management of due diligence advisers as necessary. Your Skills: a. Degree or post graduate qualifications in Engineering, Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, or similar level technical or commercial training. b. Established and hands-on 12+ years of professional experience with key focus on energy project development, preferably in solar, onshore wind or other renewable energy. c.
