1. Production Planning & Scheduling:
- Develop and manage monthly, weekly, and daily production plans based on sales orders, forecasts, and capacity.
- Prepare detailed production schedules for weaving, knitting, dyeing, processing, printing, finishing, and garmenting (as applicable).
- Monitor plan adherence and undertake corrective actions to address deviations.
2. Material Resource Planning (MRP):
- Plan and forecast raw materials, yarn, fabrics, dyes, chemicals, trims, and packing materials.
- Coordinate closely with procurement and inventory teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Minimize stockouts and excess inventory through scientific planning tools.
3. Capacity & Load Management:
- Assess plant capacity, machine load, manpower requirements, and constraints.
- Develop capacity planning models to optimize production efficiencies.
- Recommend outsourcing when needed to balance load and ensure on-time delivery.
4. Coordination Across Value Chain:
- Serve as the central coordination point between Sales, Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Dispatch.
- Conduct daily production meetings to review progress, bottlenecks, and corrective actions.
- Align all departments on priority orders and customer delivery schedules.
5. Process Optimization & Efficiency Improvement:
- Analyze production bottlenecks and implement improvements to reduce downtime and increase throughput.
- Use data-driven techniques to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Implement lean manufacturing, line balancing, and continuous improvement systems.
6. MIS & Reporting:
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of production status, WIP, inventory levels, and on-time delivery metrics.
- Implement dashboards for real-time visibility of production performance.
- Present weekly and monthly planning reviews to top management.
7. People Leadership:
- Lead a team of planners, coordinators, and analysts.
- Provide training, mentoring, and KPI-driven performance management.
- Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of textile production processes: spinning, weaving/knitting, dyeing, printing, processing, finishing, and garmenting.
- Expertise in ERP/MIS systems and advanced planning tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional coordination.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage complex planning cycles.
