Head Production Location: Mumbai Job Profile: - Determine standards, budgets, production goals, and rates, based on company policies, equipment and labour availability, and workloads. - Making most economical use of various inventory, rejection material and scrap. - Achieve economies of scale in production cost and time ensuring least rejection & maximum utilization of inventory and equipment. - Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers - Arrange for delivery, assembly, or distribution of supplies or parts to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules - Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labour or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, marketing, sales, production, or engineering team(s) - Plan production commitments or timetables for business units, specific programs, or jobs, using sales forecasts - Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods - Read and analyse charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs - Ensure that various inputs like men, machine, materials etc. are available in the required quantity and quality - Examine documents, materials, or products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications - Requisition materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair services - Enforce safety and sanitation regulations - Collect historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future products - Analyse blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates - Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures - Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals - Plan and develop new products and production processes - Implement production plans by issuing orders to those who are supposed to implement them - Ensure that goods are produced according to the prescribed standards and quality norms and driving quality culture across production processes - Ensure implementation of 5S and Just-In-Time concept to minimize inventories of raw materials and finished products - Confer with unit / depot personnel, vendors, or customers to coordinate production activities to resolve complaints or eliminate delays - Provide documentation and information to account for delays, difficulties, or changes to cost estimates - To study, monitor and analyse the reports on a daily / weekly / monthly / yearly basis and to escalate the matter in case of any major deviations. - Compile information, such as production rates and progress, materials inventories, materials used, or customer information, so that status reports can be completed - Compile and prepare documentation related to production sequences, transportation, personnel schedules, or purchase, maintenance, or repair orders - Oversee workers including supervisors, and contract workers engaged in production - Recruit, motivate, train team members and enhance their performance by becoming their coach and mentor and develop them to take additional responsibilities
