The incumbent will lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, working closely with Marketing, Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to build a strong innovation pipeline, accelerate speed-to-market, and deliver differentiated, consumer-centric products.
Candidate Profile
- 10-18 years of experience in Product Development, Innovation, R&D, Product Engineering, Industrial Design, within Stationery, Notebooks, Consumer Paper Products, Writing Instruments, Paper & Paperboards, Printing, Packaging, School & Office Supplies, Art & Craft Products, Specialty Materials, Ink Manufacturing company.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related discipline from a reputed institution.
- Candidates with a PhD in Industrial Design, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Paper Technology, Packaging Technology, Printing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines will be preferred.
- Proven experience in leading New Product Development (NPD) and commercialization projects.
- Strong understanding of product design, materials, manufacturing processes, supplier development, and project management.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to translate consumer insights into commercially successful products.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end product development from concept generation to commercialization.
- Develop and execute the product innovation roadmap by identifying new opportunities through consumer insights, market trends, and design thinking.
- Drive premiumization through material innovation, product aesthetics, design enhancements, packaging, and manufacturing excellence.
- Lead product prototyping, validation, testing, costing, and launch readiness.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing teams to ensure technical feasibility, quality, scalability, and cost optimization.
- Build and strengthen vendor partnerships for materials, printing, packaging, binding, and manufacturing processes.
- Champion sustainability initiatives through responsible material selection and environmentally conscious product development.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches and continuous product improvement.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing product development team.
