Job title: Head of Product & Technology

About the role:

This opportunity is for the head of tech & product, who will lead and grow engineering teams for our customer-facing products on the web and 3rd party interfaces. The role will be to lead the engineering capability development and delivery of these products and services to our customers. Primary responsibility will be to set up best product and engineering practice hire a team of solution architects and developers, own & manage product engineering roadmap, evangelize software development principles and build tech solutions to help drive business KPIs improvement i.e. drive cross-sell revenue and profit, elevate customer experience for digital engagement and drive referral traffic, using product management lifecycle processes and frameworks.

As head of product engineering, you will:

- Collaborate with business stakeholders, vendor partners and product management to drive software engineering projects.

- Exhibit technology leadership by participating in architecture and technology decisions with architects and fellow senior leaders.

- Participate in architecture & technology roadmap planning.

- Observe, coach and facilitate effective communication and alignment among product, architecture and engineering teams.

- Contribute to project plans and product roadmaps, i.e. task breakdown, estimating, and scheduling

- Capacity planning for initiatives and staffing engineers and ensuring that engineering teams remain prepared to deliver through training and professional development plans.

- Be a Visionary who can think out of the box and introduce new trends in the market.

- Assist in developing product strategy and roadmap. The product roadmap is created by analyzing and prioritizing projects/features, determining the product design and development effort and negotiating launch timelines with development teams.

People Management Responsibilities:

- Communicate status of projects and team progress reports up the management.

- Provide consistent team goals, objectives.

- Continually seek to identify, remove impediments to progress and success.

- Provide guidance and direction to all members of the Agile teams.

- Provide mentoring and career development to individual team members of every discipline and experience level.

- Conduct scrum meetings and give heads up

- Champion initiatives to consistently improve software engineering teams.

- Actively seek to attract new talent and improve the hiring process.

Requirements:

Our skills and experience list include:

- Prior experience managing software engineering teams in an agile environment and an external-facing product company

- Experience in Django Frameworks.

- Expertise in Modern Web UI Frameworks in React.

- Experience in Cloud-Native Development in AWS.

- Expertise in Python platform, Postgres Database.

- Knowledge of Design Principles and Patterns.

- Knowledge of REST APIs established best practices.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.

- 15+ years of experience within software engineering and 10+ years of experience in leadership role

- 10+ years of product management experience in building and scaling B2C

- Prior experience in building enterprise scale Web & Mobile Applications.

- A strong analytical acumen and a deep UI/UX understanding.

- Exposure in scaling up 0-1 startup environment.

- Experience in building customer facing digital ecosystem. Front end Apps (like web, native mobile apps, PWA), web analytics.
