Role Purpose:
The Head of Procurement will lead and transform the procurement function into a strategic business enabler that delivers cost optimization, supply reliability, governance excellence, and operational efficiency. The role will be responsible for developing procurement strategy, building a high-performing supplier ecosystem, driving commercial value, strengthening risk and compliance controls, and enabling business growth through technology-led procurement practices. The incumbent will partner closely with Operations, Technical Services, Finance, Business Development, and Client Management to ensure procurement decisions support profitability, service quality, scalability, and customer satisfaction across all operations.
Key Responsibility Areas:
1. Procurement Strategy & Governance:
Develop and execute enterprise-wide procurement strategy aligned with business objectives and growth plans. Establish procurement policies, approval frameworks, category strategies, and governance standards. Drive standardisation, process optimisation, spend visibility, and procurement KPIs. Create a transparent, audit-ready, and commercially robust procurement function.
2. Strategic Sourcing & Commercial Management:
Lead sourcing, competitive bidding, supplier negotiations, and commercial contracting across all procurement categories. Secure optimal pricing, payment terms, service levels, and contractual conditions. Deliver year-on-year cost savings, value creation, and working capital improvements. Balance cost, quality, service continuity, and operational requirements in all procurement decisions.
3. Technical & Operational Procurement Excellence:
Partner with Technical Services and Operations to procure engineering equipment, spares, consumables, tools, and specialised services. Support sourcing of AMCs, maintenance contracts, technical services, and facility management requirements. Drive standardisation of specifications, approved makes, and rate contracts. Ensure procurement decisions support safety, statutory compliance, equipment reliability, and service delivery excellence. Industry Expertise in Technical Services is mandatory; this role is accountable to ensure procurement strategies align with operational and client requirements. Lead procurement for large, multi-location, and high-value service contracts, ensuring commercial competitiveness, operational continuity, statutory compliance, and long-term value creation. Partner effectively with Technical Services teams to procure critical engineering equipment, specialised services, AMCs, FM consumables, spares, and infrastructure solutions while balancing lifecycle cost, asset reliability, service uptime, and risk management. Build and manage strategic supplier ecosystems capable of supporting complex client contracts, rapid mobilisation requirements, and large-scale operational growth across diverse industry segments.
4. Contract Management, Compliance & Controls:
Own the commercial governance of supplier agreements, purchase contracts, service agreements, and rate contracts. Ensure robust contract lifecycle management, including negotiation, renewal, performance monitoring, and dispute resolution. Establish effective procurement controls, audit mechanisms, and compliance frameworks. Ensure adherence to statutory requirements, DPDP 2023 Act provisions, ESG commitments, and internal governance standards.
