Head - Procurement - Mining/Fertilizers

Position Overview:

Lead procurement for a vertically integrated phosphate mining and fertilizer operation.

Covers both operational procurement (raw materials, chemicals, spares, consumables) and project procurement (Capex and Opex).

Owns continuous supply at lowest total cost.

Key Responsibilities:

- Strategy - Develop and implement procurement strategy, plans and processes.

- Sourcing & Contracts - Supplier evaluation/selection, techno-commercial evaluation, negotiation, contract finalization.

- Project Procurement - End-to-end supply chain for new/improvement projects: spec finalization, inspection, expediting, delivery.

- Inventory - Monitor raw materials, chemicals, spares and consumables at plant and supplier ends for continuous supply.

- Cost & Budget - Adherence to annual procurement budget, cost-saving initiatives, track international price movements.

- Import Logistics - Manage imports of chemicals, equipment and spares by sea, air, road and rail.

- Vendor Development - Assess performance (rejections, delivery, quality, credit terms); develop alternate sources.

- Governance - Analyse audit findings by category; ensure corrective/preventive action.

- Team - Build and lead procurement team with KPIs, TCO methodology, performance reviews.
