Role Overview

The Head - Procurement will be responsible for leading end-to-end procurement strategy across direct and indirect categories, ensuring cost competitiveness, supply reliability, and strong supplier partnerships.

The role demands a highly assertive professional with a strong analytical mindset, capable of driving tough commercial negotiations, developing strategic supplier networks, and collaborating closely with engineering and manufacturing teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and drive the overall procurement and sourcing strategy across direct and indirect procurement categories.

- Manage sourcing of fabricated structures, machined components, electrical systems, drives, automation components, and engineered assemblies.

- Drive strategic sourcing, vendor consolidation, cost optimization, and localization initiatives.

- Lead commercial negotiations with key domestic and international suppliers.

- Develop and strengthen a robust supplier ecosystem for engineered manufacturing components.

- Implement data-driven procurement practices such as spend analytics, should-cost modelling, and total cost of ownership frameworks.

- Collaborate closely with engineering teams on value engineering and design-to-cost initiatives.

- Establish strong supplier performance management systems covering quality, delivery, and cost competitiveness.

- Develop risk mitigation strategies to ensure supply continuity in a project-driven manufacturing setup.

- Lead and mentor a procurement team, driving process discipline and performance excellence.

Education & Certifications

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial).

- MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain, Operations, or Business Management preferred.
