Job Title: Head Procurement
Location: Gurgaon, India
Experience Required: Minimum 17 Years
Educational Qualification: Full-time MBA from a Tier 1 institute (IIMs, ISB, XLRI, SPJIMR, MDI, etc.)
Role Overview:
We are seeking a strategic and result-oriented Head Procurement to lead our procurement and sourcing operations. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in strategic sourcing, vendor management, contract negotiations, cost optimization, and supply chain strategy. This is a leadership role reporting to the COO/CEO and will play a key role in aligning procurement goals with overall business strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing & Category Management:
- Develop and implement long-term sourcing strategies across direct and indirect procurement categories including raw materials, capex, services, IT, and logistics.
Vendor Development & Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers. Foster long-term supplier partnerships ensuring quality, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
Contract Negotiation & Compliance:
- Lead high-value negotiations and finalize procurement contracts ensuring favorable terms, legal compliance, and risk mitigation.
Cost Optimization & Value Engineering:
- Drive cost-reduction initiatives and continuous process improvement while maintaining product/service quality and timely delivery.
Digital Procurement & Automation:
- Lead procurement automation initiatives, ERP implementation, and digital sourcing tools to enhance efficiency and transparency.
Team Leadership & Capability Building:
- Build and mentor a high-performing procurement team. Develop capability enhancement frameworks to ensure excellence in execution.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with CXOs, Operations, Legal, Finance, and Project Management teams to align procurement with business priorities.
Desired Skills & Competencies:
- Proven leadership in procurement with a strong commercial and strategic mindset.
- Excellent knowledge of contract law, procurement compliance, and governance.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Experience in managing multi-location/global vendor bases.
- Expertise in using SAP/Oracle/Ariba or other ERP and procurement tools.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
Qualifications:
- Full-time MBA from a Tier 1 Business School (IIM, ISB, XLRI, SPJIMR, MDI, etc.).
- Minimum of 17 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably in manufacturing, infrastructure, EPC, or large enterprise environments.
