
Role Overview
An opportunity to lead procurement for a fast-growing consumer brand, driving strategic sourcing, vendor partnerships, and cost optimisation across raw materials, packaging, and indirect categories, with significant career growth potential and high visibility across senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business goals and production requirements.
- Forecast material needs based on demand planning to ensure uninterrupted supply.
- Drive supplier development across raw materials, packaging, and indirect procurement categories.
2. Vendor Management & Negotiation:
- Identify, assess, and onboard suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and competitive pricing.
- Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and service agreements to optimise cost and value.
- Build long-term strategic relationships with key suppliers to support sustainability and innovation.
3. Cost Management & Compliance:
- Monitor procurement budgets and ensure adherence to cost targets.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives via process optimisation and alternative sourcing.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, food safety norms (FSSAI), and ethical sourcing standards.
4. Process Excellence & Automation:
- Establish robust procurement processes and systems to enhance transparency and efficiency.
- Drive automation in procurement operations, including e-tendering and digital vendor management.
- Define and monitor KPIs to track procurement performance and support continuous improvement.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with production, quality, finance, and logistics teams to align procurement with operational needs.
- Support new product development by sourcing innovative materials and packaging solutions.
Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
- MBA or equivalent in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field.
Experience:
- 12-18 years of procurement experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, or high-speed production environments.
- Proven track record in strategic sourcing, vendor development, and cost optimisation.
- Strong understanding of procurement systems, regulatory compliance, and sustainability practices.
