Job Description - Head Procurement (PAN-India)

Location: Head Office - Mumbai

Managing procurement value total in a year - in between 300 CR to 500 CR

Role Objective:

We are looking for a dynamic and seasoned Head of Procurement to lead procurement and supply chain operations across India. The incumbent will spearhead strategies for cost-effective and timely procurement of all construction materials, services, and resources, he will bring deep technical understanding of construction materials, methods, and project requirements, ensuring alignment of procurement with engineering and execution excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Procurement & Vendor Management:

- Formulate and implement centralized procurement strategies for Civil, Steel, Cement, RMC, Aggregates, Civil, MEP, Finishing, Safety, Plant & Machinery spares, and other construction categories.

- Build, nurture, and manage a strong vendor ecosystem (vendors PAN-India).

- Ensure continuous vendor evaluation on parameters of cost, quality, delivery, compliance, and capacity.

- Establish long-term rate contracts and MOUs with OEMs, manufacturers, and critical suppliers.

Labour Resource Procurement & Contracting:

- Strategically source and manage labour contractors, manpower agencies, and sub-contractors.

- Negotiate cost-effective labour contracts ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and safety norms.

- Maintain an agile manpower supply chain to support multiple projects across geographies.

Project-Centric Procurement Operations:

- Align procurement with project BOQs, schedules, and budgets to ensure smooth execution.

- Collaborate closely with project heads, planning, engineering, and finance for procurement forecasting.

- Monitor logistics and transportation to ensure timely delivery of materials to remote project sites.

- Drive value engineering through innovative sourcing and alternate material / vendor exploration.

Governance, Systems & Reporting:

- Champion ERP-driven procurement (Farvision, SAP, MM Module) for transparency and efficiency.

- Standardize procurement processes across HO and projects for consistency and control.

- Lead MIS reporting, cost tracking, vendor audits, and procurement dashboards.

- Ensure adherence to legal, ethical, and compliance standards in procurement.

Leadership & Team Management:

- Lead, mentor, and upskill procurement professionals across HO and project sites.

- Act as a team player and cross-functional collaborator, fostering trust and partnership with internal stakeholders.

- Drive a performance-oriented culture focused on efficiency, accountability, and innovation.

Key Requirements:

Education: Any graduation OR any BE OR Diploma OR Diploma Material Management. MBA in Material Management / Supply Chain will be an added advantage.

Experience: 12 - 20 years of progressive experience in procurement within construction infrastructure, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

- Proven expertise in procurement of core construction materials (Civil, Steel, Cement, RMC, Aggregates, MEP, finishing items).

- Strong track record in labour contractor / vendor sourcing & negotiation.

- Expertise in handling procurement for large-scale projects (300 Cr - 500 Cr) across multiple states.

- Proficiency in ERP platforms and advanced Excel-based analytics.

- Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor relationship management skills.
