Head - Procurement

Description:

The Head Procurement will lead the strategy, governance, and execution of procurement for fixed assets, white goods, and critical indirect categories supporting business operations and expansion. This role ensures cost efficiency, standardization, asset lifecycle management, and strong vendor partnerships.

Procurement Scope:

- White Goods & Appliances: Refrigeration units, freezers, ACs, generators, UPS

- Fixed Assets / Capex: Office & warehouse furniture, fixtures, equipment

- Facilities Infrastructure: Electricals, HVAC, safety systems, fit-outs

- IT Hardware: Laptops, desktops, servers, networking equipment

- AMC, installation, and maintenance contracts

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Strategy & Capex Governance

- Define and drive procurement strategy aligned with expansion plans

- Own annual and long-term capex planning and governance

- Support new site launches and scale-ups

Fixed Assets & White Goods Procurement

- Lead sourcing for high-value fixed assets and white goods

- Drive standardization of specifications

- Ensure timely availability of assets

Vendor & Contract Management

- Manage OEMs, distributors, and service partners

- Negotiate pricing, warranties, SLAs, and AMCs

- Oversee vendor performance and compliance

Asset Lifecycle & Cost Optimization

- Drive total cost of ownership optimization

- Partner with Finance on capitalization and audits

- Enable asset reuse and disposal programs

Cross-Functional Alignment

- Partner with Facilities, Operations, IT, and Finance

- Align procurement with operational readiness

- Act as escalation point for asset-related issues

Processes, Systems & Governance

- Establish procurement policies and SOPs

- Implement asset tracking and controls

- Ensure compliance and audit readiness

Leadership

- Lead and train the procurement and asset management teams

- Develop team capability and accountability

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

- 8-15+ years in fixed assets / capex / white goods procurement

- Experience in warehousing, retail, logistics, or multi-location operations

- Strong commercial and negotiation skills

- Experience in high-growth environments
