
The Head of Manufacturing Engineering & Coating will be responsible for leading, developing, and continuously improving manufacturing engineering functions related to screen printing and coating processes. This role will drive operational excellence through robust process design, technology adoption, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and scalable manufacturing operations.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all manufacturing engineering activities related to screen printing and coating technologies
- Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve product quality, yield, efficiency, and cost
- Own process validation, standardization, and documentation, ensuring compliance with internal and external quality standards
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) to enhance productivity and reduce waste
- Lead equipment selection, specification, procurement, installation, commissioning, and qualification of printing and coating machinery
- Provide deep technical expertise in coating systems (PVD, CVD), screen printing equipment, materials, and consumables
- Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, R&D, and Supply Chain teams to resolve process issues and implement improvements
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (RCA, CAPA) for process deviations and quality issues
- Support new product introduction (NPI), process scale-up, and technology transfer from development to mass production
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards within manufacturing operations
- Develop and manage engineering budgets, CAPEX planning, and vendor relationships
- Mentor, train, and develop a high-performing manufacturing engineering team
- Drive digitalization and automation initiatives to improve process control, traceability, and operational visibility
- Act as a key stakeholder in audits, customer interactions, and technical reviews
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Printing, Chemical, or Coating Engineering
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in screen printing or coating-intensive industries
- Strong hands-on experience with screen printing equipment, coating systems (PVD, CVD), and related materials
- Proven leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
