Head - PPC & Logistics - Steel Manufacturing

We are hiring an experienced professional for a leadership role in PPC & Logistics with one of the leading producers of a wide variety of speciality steels for critical end-use applications.

Industry: Steel Manufacturing (Mandatory)

Qualification: BE / B Tech, M.Tech in Metallurgy will be an added advantage

Key Responsibilities:

- Drive raw material planning aligned with quarterly rolling forecasts from Sales & Marketing and business demand planning

- Lead monthly & weekly production planning including melting & rolling plans, scheduling, sequencing, and equipment loading optimization

- Monitor and improve yields across grades, heats, products, and processes to drive productivity and operational efficiency

- Track raw material and ferro alloy consumption, productivity by product/process, and production adherence vs plan

- Ensure on-time dispatch planning and execution to customers through strong logistics and PPC coordination

- Drive outsourcing activities (melting, rolling, machining, etc.), vendor development, and cost-effective execution with timely delivery

- Partner closely with Sales, Production, Purchase, Quality, and Logistics teams for daily production output planning and execution

- Lead line balancing, production continuity, and dispatch planning to support business plans and customer requirements

- Support product costing and execution through QCD (Quality, Cost & Delivery) alignment and planning discipline

- Strengthen planning systems, MIS reporting, FIFO/FIFI practices, SAP/ERP tracking, and order visibility mechanisms

- Monitor SOP adherence, legal & regulatory compliance, safety standards, 5S implementation, departmental cost control, and process discipline

- Lead daily reviews, corrective actions, team goal setting, performance management, and capability development of the PPC & Logistics function

Ideal Candidate Profile:

- Minimum 15 years of experience in a steel manufacturing setup (Mandatory)

- Experience in organizations with annual turnover of 2,000-3,000 Cr preferred

- Strong expertise in PPC, Logistics, Production Planning, Dispatch, and manufacturing coordination

- Exposure to yield monitoring, production sequencing, process optimization, MIS & SAP/ERP systems

- Proven leadership experience managing teams and driving cross-functional operational outcomes

- Candidates should preferably be below 50 years of age
