Head - Plant Operations - Chemicals/Petrochemicals Manufacturing

Responsibilities:

Operations leadership:

- Own the plant operations - structuring, hiring, and setting its standards.

- Translate sales commitments into production, inventory and dispatch plans.

- Own the operations budget, cost of production, and the daily metrics leadership acts on.

- Partner with engineering on scale-up, new site commissioning and handover to steady-state operation.

Production and quality:

- Drive yield, batch cycle time, equipment utilisation and unit cost across pilot and commercial units.

- Own QC and QA from incoming feedstock to finished goods release, including vendor quality and supplier corrective actions.

- Maintain production records, certificates of analysis, traceability, deviation and CAPA systems.

People and regulatory:

- Manage direct production staff and contract workforce - shift structures, training, safety protocols and workforce cost.

- Own all regulatory consents and certificates - pollution control board, factory and supporting licenses, and labour registrations.

- Drive ISO certification and integrated management system implementation.

Education:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in chemical engineering or a related discipline, or evidence of exceptional achievement.

- 8 - 12 years in chemical, specialty chemicals, or oil and gas (O&G) operations, with ownership extending beyond a single production block.

- Experience leading more than one operations function - production plus quality, compliance or supply chain.

- Deep knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001, and regulatory prerequisites and procedures for production operations in India at national and state levels.

- Nice-to-have: specialty chemicals or biorefinery experience, greenfield commissioning, first-time ISO certification, multi-site operations.
