
Role Overview:
As the Head of Grains, you will spearhead the strategic direction and P&L management for our Wheat, Maize, Corn, and Rice trading desks based in Singapore. This role sits at the intersection of global supply chain logistics and high-stakes commodity trading, requiring you to navigate volatile markets while identifying arbitrage opportunities across international borders. You will lead a high-performing team of traders and analysts, working closely with global procurement heads, shipping partners, and institutional clients to ensure seamless execution from origin to destination. By optimizing our trade flow and leveraging deep market insights, you will directly influence the firms bottom line and solidify our competitive footprint in the global agri-commodity landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct the end-to-end P&L for the grains portfolio, ensuring consistent profitability through disciplined risk management and strategic market positioning.
- Oversee global procurement and export-import operations to maintain a robust supply chain that meets the evolving demands of our diverse client base.
- Drive commodity research initiatives to provide actionable intelligence that informs trading decisions and long-term business strategy.
- Cultivate and manage high-level relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, logistics providers, and regulatory bodies, to facilitate smooth cross-border trade.
- Lead the agri-marketing efforts to expand our market share and penetrate new geographies, ensuring our value proposition remains compelling in a crowded market.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated expertise in managing complex commodity trading books, with a proven ability to interpret market trends and execute profitable trades in Wheat, Maize, or Rice.
- Strong analytical capabilities to synthesize commodity research into clear, actionable strategies that mitigate risk and maximize margins.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor diverse teams and negotiate effectively with international stakeholders at the executive level.
- Deep operational knowledge of global logistics, trade finance, and international trade compliance, ensuring all transactions adhere to global standards.
- A Masters degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field from a premier institute, complemented by the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, on-site environment in Singapore.
