Role Objective

To lead and oversee end-to-end plant operations across multiple manufacturing sites, ensuring high performance in production output, process efficiency, safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Plant Operations Leadership

- Manage production, utilities, maintenance, engineering, EHS, QC, and warehousing functions.

- Ensure optimal utilization of resources, equipment uptime, and achievement of production targets.

Process & Technical Excellence

- Drive batch manufacturing performance and cycle time efficiency.

- Lead solvent recovery optimization, yield improvement, and cost reduction initiatives.

- Troubleshoot process deviations and ensure smooth scale-up from pilot to commercial production.

Safety & Compliance

- Build a strong safety-first culture across all manufacturing sites.

- Ensure adherence to ISO, GMP, REACH, Responsible Care, and statutory environmental standards.

- Lead internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of non-conformities.

Strategic & Cost Management

- Improve plant profitability through yield optimization and waste reduction.

- Define KPIs and drive continuous improvement across operations.

People Leadership

- Lead, mentor, and develop large cross-functional technical teams.

- Drive training, performance management, and operational discipline.

Education Requirement

- B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering (Mandatory)

- MBA or advanced qualifications in Operations/Industrial Management preferred.

Experience Requirement

- 15+ years of experience in production operations within specialty chemical manufacturing.

- Proven track record of leading large teams and managing complex batch processes.

Key Skills

- Expertise in multi-product batch manufacturing

- Strong process safety and reaction chemistry knowledge

- Experience with utilities, solvent recovery, ETP, and plant engineering

- Familiarity with SAP/MES systems

- Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities
