Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head Operations to lead and oversee end-to-end operational excellence across manufacturing, procurement, supply chain, and multi-city business operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving operational efficiency, ensuring seamless production and delivery, optimizing processes, and building high-performing teams to support the organization's growth objectives.
This role requires a strong leader with extensive experience in manufacturing operations, supply chain management, process improvement, and cross-functional stakeholder management within industries such as Architecture, Interior Design, Building Materials, Manufacturing, or related sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
- Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with the company's business objectives and growth plans.
- Drive operational excellence across manufacturing facilities, procurement functions, and service delivery teams.
- Establish performance metrics, operational KPIs, and governance mechanisms to ensure efficiency and accountability.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and profitability.
Manufacturing & Production Management:
- Oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations, ensuring timely production, quality compliance, and cost optimization.
- Implement best practices in manufacturing engineering, production planning, capacity utilization, and resource management.
- Monitor production performance and drive initiatives to improve throughput, reduce wastage, and maximize efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards across manufacturing units.
Procurement & Supply Chain Management:
- Lead strategic sourcing, procurement planning, vendor development, and contract negotiations.
- Optimize supply chain operations to ensure uninterrupted availability of raw materials and timely product delivery.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and logistics partners to improve cost efficiency and service quality.
- Drive inventory optimization and demand planning initiatives to enhance working capital efficiency.
Multi-City Operations Management:
- Manage and coordinate operations across multiple locations, ensuring standardization of processes and service quality.
- Monitor regional operational performance and implement corrective measures where required.
- Collaborate with local teams to address operational challenges and ensure business continuity.
- Drive consistency in customer experience and operational execution across all locations.
Team Building & Leadership:
- Build, mentor, and lead high-performing operational teams across functions and geographies.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Identify talent development opportunities and succession planning initiatives.
- Provide strategic direction and coaching to departmental leaders and operational managers.
Process Excellence & Technology:
- Drive process optimization, automation, and digital transformation initiatives across operations.
- Implement technology-driven solutions to improve operational visibility, productivity, and decision-making.
- Establish SOPs, quality frameworks, and operational controls to ensure consistency and scalability.
- Leverage data analytics and MIS reporting to identify improvement opportunities and support strategic decisions.
Strategic Execution:
- Partner with senior leadership to develop and implement long-term operational strategies.
- Manage budgets, operational costs, and resource allocation to achieve business goals.
- Identify risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure operational resilience.
- Support organizational expansion initiatives, including new facility setup, process integration, and operational scaling.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- MBA/PGDM or equivalent postgraduate qualification from a recognized institution.
- Proven leadership experience in Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Plant Management roles.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, procurement, logistics, and process improvement methodologies.
- Experience managing multi-location or multi-city operations.
- Demonstrated expertise in building and leading large cross-functional teams.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance strategic planning and operational execution.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Exposure to technology adoption, ERP systems, and operational automation initiatives is preferred.
