Job Purpose

The Head of Operations is responsible for overseeing the entire manufacturing operations, driving productivity, ensuring quality and timely delivery, and managing cross-functional teams. This role is critical in aligning operational strategy with business goals to achieve consistent growth, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning & Execution

- Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company's growth objectives.

- Plan production schedules based on sales forecasts, capacity, and customer delivery requirements.

- Drive cost-efficiency without compromising on quality or delivery timelines.

2. Manufacturing & Production Management

- Oversee end-to-end manufacturing processes for all product lines

- Ensure optimal utilization of resources (manpower, machines, materials).

- Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, and other continuous improvement practices.

3. Quality Assurance & Compliance

- Ensure strict adherence to quality standards and compliance with industry regulations.

- Liaise with the QA team to monitor and enhance product quality and reliability.

- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action for recurring issues.

4. Supply Chain & Inventory

- Monitor and optimize procurement, inventory control, vendor management, and logistics.

- Collaborate with suppliers for timely availability of raw materials and bought-out components.

5. People Management & Team Leadership

- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team.

- Foster a culture of ownership, safety, discipline, and continuous improvement.

- Ensure workforce planning, training, and performance management.

6. Project Execution & Customer Interaction

- Oversee execution of projects from order receipt to final commissioning.

- Interact with key customers to ensure operational alignment and responsiveness to feedback.

7. Financial Oversight

- Control operational costs and contribute to profitability improvement initiatives.

Key Requirements

Education:

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering (mandatory)

- MBA in Operations / Supply Chain (preferred)

Experience:

- 18+ years in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a senior operations leadership role

- Industry experience in material handling systems, machine tools, or industrial automation preferred

- Excellent understanding of manufacturing systems, lean tools, and ERP systems
