Head of Online Sales (D2C) - FMCD Reporting To: CEO/ Chief Business Officer Experience Required: 8 to 12+ years, with a strong D2C and FMCD background, and a focus on Tier 2 & Tier 3 markets Role Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and data-driven Head of Online Sales (D2C) to lead our direct-to-consumer e-commerce channel. The ideal candidate will have proven experience scaling FMCD products via online platforms, with a deep understanding of consumer behavior in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on accelerating online revenue, improving customer acquisition, and creating a seamless digital buying experience for non-metro audiences. Key Responsibilities: Strategy & Revenue Growth: - Own and drive the overall D2C revenue strategy through company websites, apps, and digital storefronts. - Devise and execute tailored growth strategies for Tier 2 & 3 cities, focusing on regional needs, pricing sensitivity, and purchasing behavior. - Develop localized campaigns and offers to boost visibility and conversions in semi-urban and rural areas. Performance Marketing & Demand Generation: - Collaborate with performance marketing teams to optimize CAC, LTV, and ROAS across Google, Meta, and regional platforms. - Design and execute vernacular marketing campaigns, influencer partnerships, and targeted outreach in non-metro geographies. Customer Experience & Retention: - Improve the end-to-end digital customer journey, including UI/UX, delivery experience, return policies, and payment options (UPI, cash on delivery). - Drive customer loyalty through CRM, personalization, and retention campaigns. Channel & Product Management: - Work closely with product, IT, and marketing teams to ensure product availability, inventory planning, and pricing strategy on the D2C platform. - Identify emerging regional trends and collaborate with product/marketing to introduce location-specific offerings. Analytics & Optimization: - Use data to continually optimize traffic sources, funnel performance, repeat purchase rates, and customer cohorts from Tier 2/3 cities. - Monitor key metrics, generate insights, and make agile improvements. Qualifications & Skills: - 8 to 12+ years of experience in D2C / e-commerce sales, preferably in FMCD, appliances, electronics, or consumer tech. - Strong understanding of regional consumer behavior and digital marketing strategies for Tier 2/3 cities in India. - Hands-on experience with Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce or similar platforms. - Expertise in performance marketing tools, CRM systems, funnel analysis, and customer journey mapping. - Excellent leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills. - MBA or equivalent degree in Business, Marketing, or E-Commerce is preferred. Good to Have: - Knowledge of regional languages or experience running campaigns in vernacular content. - Exposure to logistics and last-mile delivery challenges in Tier 2/3 cities. - Experience scaling D2C business from early stages to maturity.
