Role Overview:
As the HOD - Supply Chain, you will be responsible for leading and optimizing all aspects of our supply chain operations. This pivotal role involves overseeing logistics, warehouse operations, procurement, and overall supply chain strategy to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of goods and services.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, finance, and operations, to align supply chain activities with business objectives. Your leadership will directly impact our ability to meet customer demands, improve profitability, and maintain a competitive edge in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels for all locations.
- Lead and manage the procurement process, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management, to ensure favorable terms and reliable supply.
- Oversee warehouse operations, including inventory management, storage, and distribution, to maximize space utilization and minimize waste.
- Direct logistics activities, including transportation planning, freight management, and customs compliance, to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance supply chain performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align supply chain activities with business objectives and ensure seamless execution of strategic initiatives.
- Manage and develop a high-performing supply chain team, providing coaching, mentoring, and training to enhance their skills and capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including safety, environmental, and quality requirements, to maintain a safe and sustainable supply chain.
- Implement and maintain robust risk management strategies to mitigate potential disruptions and ensure business continuity.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging technology and best practices to optimize supply chain processes and enhance overall efficiency.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute comprehensive supply chain strategies that drive efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
- Proven expertise in procurement, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management, with a strong understanding of market dynamics and pricing strategies.
- Extensive experience in warehouse operations, including inventory management, storage optimization, and distribution planning, with a focus on maximizing efficiency and minimizing waste.
- In-depth knowledge of logistics, including transportation planning, freight management, and customs compliance, with the ability to optimize routes and modes of transportation to minimize costs and delivery times.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights to improve supply chain performance.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Adaptability to work in a multi-location environment, with the ability to travel as needed to support operations across different sites.
