Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Department (HOD) - Process Design Engineer to lead process design activities for large-scale EPC projects in the onshore/offshore Oil & Gas sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, proven leadership skills, and the ability to guide a multi-cultural team toward successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of process engineers and designers.
- Drive the development of process engineering deliverables such as: Simulation, PFD, P&ID
- Design basis & criteria, key philosophies (Isolation, ESD, Control, Relief & Blowdown, etc.)
- Flare & Blowdown studies/reports
- Pipeline flow assurance studies
- Ensure compliance with international codes and standards.
- Handle critical process equipment such as Gas compressors, Export pumps, Fired heaters, Heat exchangers/coolers, Utility system design, PSV sizing, etc.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to the team, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Perform man-hour estimation, resource planning, and competency development for the department.
- Coordinate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams for smooth project execution.
Tools & Standards:
- Proficient in Aspen HYSYS (or similar simulation tools).
- Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, EN, and BS standards.
Candidate Profile:
- 19+ years of experience in EPC / Engineering companies within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Refinery projects.
- Prior experience in a leadership/HOD role managing multicultural teams.
- Strong balance of technical expertise and leadership skills (team management, performance management, mentoring).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
