Job Description: Head New Product Development (Fintech)

Reporting to: NPD Director

Business: Fintech Products (POS Machines, UPI Sound Boxes, Payment Hardware & Related Solutions)

Location: Mumbai Vasai & Goregaon

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Strategy & Roadmap

- Own the NPD roadmap for Fintech products including POS terminals, UPI sound boxes, and new payment hardware

- Track market trends, regulatory changes (RBI, NPCI, PCI, EMV, etc.), and customer needs

- Translate business and customer requirements into clear product specifications

2. New Product Development Execution

- Lead end-to-end NPD from concept, feasibility, design, prototyping, validation, pilot build to mass production

- Ensure delivery aligned to cost, quality, timelines, and performance targets

- Drive DFM, DFA, DFMEA, and design reviews to ensure manufacturing readiness

3. Cross-Functional & Program Leadership

- Act as the single-point owner for Fintech NPD programs

- Work closely with Hardware, Firmware, Software, Compliance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and Testing teams

- Proactively identify risks, manage dependencies, and drive execution

4. Compliance, Cost & Scale

- Ensure adherence to industry and regulatory standards (PCI-DSS, EMV, RBI, NPCI, FCC/CE, BIS)

- Coordinate certifications to enable faster go-to-market

- Drive cost optimization, product reliability, and smooth transition from NPD to mass production

5. Team & Stakeholder Management

- Build and mentor a strong NPD team for Fintech products

- Align internal teams and external stakeholders toward delivery goals

- Provide regular program updates to the NPD Director and leadership

Desired Candidate Profile

Education

- B.Tech / M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Embedded Systems or related fields

- MBA or Product Management exposure preferred

Experience & Skills

- 10 to 12 years of experience in electronics product development, preferably Fintech / Payment / IoT / Consumer Electronics

- Proven experience with POS terminals or regulated payment hardware

- Strong exposure to Tier 1 / EMS / ODM / OEM environments

- Solid understanding of embedded systems, payment hardware architecture, manufacturing scale-up, and certifications
