Are you an experienced General Insurance professional with strong expertise in Motor Underwriting, Risk Assessment, Portfolio Management, and Underwriting Strategy? We are looking for a seasoned insurance leader to head the Motor Underwriting function and drive profitable portfolio growth, underwriting governance, risk management, and process transformation.

A growing General Insurance organization offering an opportunity to lead the Motor Underwriting function, work closely with senior leadership, and build scalable underwriting frameworks, processes, and capabilities.

Responsibilities:

- Lead the Motor Underwriting function and develop underwriting strategies aligned with business and profitability objectives.

- Oversee risk assessment, pricing, underwriting guidelines, portfolio monitoring, and underwriting governance.

- Drive profitable growth while maintaining appropriate risk, loss-ratio, and portfolio controls.

- Establish underwriting frameworks, risk appetite, authority limits, referral processes, and portfolio monitoring mechanisms.

- Partner with Actuarial, Claims, Product, Distribution, Finance, Reinsurance, and Technology teams to improve portfolio performance.

- Monitor underwriting KPIs, loss ratios, premium growth, risk concentration, claims trends, and portfolio profitability.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

- 15+ years of overall experience in General Insurance, with significant experience in Motor Underwriting.

- Strong expertise in Motor Insurance products, underwriting principles, pricing, risk assessment, and portfolio management.

- Proven experience leading underwriting teams and driving profitable portfolio growth.

- Strong understanding of underwriting governance, risk appetite, regulatory requirements, and industry practices.

- Strong analytical, commercial, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.

- Exposure to digital underwriting, automation, data analytics, and underwriting transformation will be preferred.
