Role Overview
We are seeking a Head - Modern Trade to lead and grow our presence in the Modern Trade channel through accounts such as Reliance Retail, DMart, Spar, and others.
This role is ideal for a driven, relationship-oriented individual who can manage complex negotiations, drive in-store execution, and partner strategically with retail chains to maximize compnies footprint.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute annual and quarterly business plans with modern trade chains
- Own the P&L for modern trade accounts and drive revenue, profitability, and brand presence.
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with category teams, buyers, and commercial managers.
- Negotiate and renew TOTs ensuring alignment with companies profitability goals and brand objectives.
- Ensure listing, assortment planning, and visibility for key SKUs across all stores
- Collaborate with marketing for planning and executing in-store promotions, activations, and branding.
- Work with supply chain and distributor teams to maintain service levels, stock availability, and fill rates.
- Monitor account-level performance, ROS, and key KPIs to track effectiveness and growth opportunities.
- Handle claim settlements, billing reconciliation, and trade promotional spends efficiently.
- Drive conflict resolution and ensure pricing hygiene across modern trade and general trade channels.
- Ensure new product launches are listed and rolled out in key retail accounts with strong visibility and support.
Candidate Profile:
- 5+ years in FMCG with experience handling Modern Trade accounts
- TIER 1/2 MBA colleges is MANDATORY
- Age Not exceeding 40 yrs
- Prior experience managing relationships with key retailers like Reliance, DMart, Big Bazaar, etc.
- Strong understanding of TOTs, category management, and joint business planning
- Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive insights and execution plans
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Track record of executing in-store promotions and improving store-level execution
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, finance, supply chain, and sales ops
