Head Merchandiser

Role Overview:

As the Head Merchandiser, you will spearhead the development and execution of merchandising strategies that drive sales growth and enhance brand visibility across our product portfolio. Your day-to-day will involve analyzing market trends, forecasting demand, managing inventory levels, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, and supply chain. You will work directly with senior management to align merchandising initiatives with overall business objectives. Your strategic decisions will directly impact customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and the overall success of our merchandising efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement comprehensive merchandising strategies that align with company goals and maximize profitability for all product categories.

- Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer insights to identify opportunities for product optimization and assortment planning to meet customer demand.

- Lead and mentor a team of merchandisers, providing guidance and support to ensure effective execution of merchandising plans and achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs).

- Collaborate with the supply chain team to optimize inventory levels, minimize stockouts, and ensure timely delivery of products to meet customer expectations.

- Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing, while maintaining strong relationships to ensure a reliable supply chain.

- Monitor competitor activities and market trends to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation in merchandising strategies to maintain a competitive edge.

- Oversee the visual merchandising of products in-store and online, ensuring a consistent brand experience and maximizing sales potential to enhance brand image.

- Develop and manage the merchandising budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing return on investment to achieve financial targets.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful merchandising strategies that drive sales growth and enhance brand visibility.

- Strong analytical skills to interpret sales data, market trends, and customer insights to inform merchandising decisions.

- Excellent leadership and team management skills to motivate and guide a team of merchandisers.

- Exceptional negotiation and relationship-building skills to secure favorable terms with vendors and suppliers.

- Proven ability to manage budgets effectively and allocate resources strategically.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate merchandising plans and strategies to stakeholders.

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.

- Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- 10-15 years of relevant experience in merchandising, preferably in a retail or e-commerce environment.
