Role Overview:

The Head of MEP Procurement and Contracting will lead the strategic sourcing, negotiation, and contract management for all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) related materials and services across the company's diverse project portfolio. This role collaborates closely with project managers, engineering teams, and finance departments to ensure cost-effective procurement, timely delivery, and adherence to quality standards. The successful candidate will directly impact project profitability, risk mitigation, and the overall efficiency of construction operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies for MEP materials and services, aligning with project requirements and budgetary constraints.

- Lead the sourcing and selection of qualified MEP vendors and contractors, conducting thorough due diligence and performance evaluations.

- Negotiate favorable contract terms and conditions with suppliers and subcontractors, minimizing risks and maximizing value for the organization.

- Manage the entire contract lifecycle, from initial drafting and review to execution, monitoring, and closeout, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

- Oversee the preparation and evaluation of bid packages, technical specifications, and commercial proposals for MEP projects.

- Collaborate with project teams to identify and resolve procurement-related issues, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services to meet project deadlines.

- Monitor market trends and price fluctuations for MEP commodities, providing insights and recommendations to optimize procurement decisions.

- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and contractors, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement in performance.

- Mentor and develop a high-performing team of procurement professionals, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and expertise.

- Implement and maintain robust procurement processes and systems, ensuring transparency, accountability, and efficiency in all procurement activities.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management within the MEP sector.

- Proven ability to develop and implement effective procurement strategies that drive cost savings and improve operational efficiency.

- In-depth knowledge of MEP materials, equipment, and construction practices, with a strong understanding of industry standards and regulations.

- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and develop mitigation strategies.

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or equivalent; advanced degree or certifications in procurement or supply chain management preferred.
