Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically sound Mechanical Head to lead the mechanical maintenance, breakdown handling, and preventive engineering operations at our advanced aluminum manufacturing facility.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring maximum uptime and optimal performance of heavy plant machineryincluding melting/holding furnaces, continuous strip casters, cold rolling mills, and high-speed slitting/cutting lines. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians to implement rigorous preventive/predictive maintenance schedules and minimize unplanned equipment downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Equipment Maintenance & Uptime (Core Machinery):

- Furnaces & Casters: Oversee the mechanical integrity, hydraulic systems, and structural alignment of 5 Melting Furnaces (up to 35 MT), 5 Holding Furnaces, and 5 Continuous Strip Casters.

- Cold Rolling Mill (CRM): Manage precision maintenance of the Cold Rolling Mill, focusing on roll-change mechanisms, high-pressure hydraulics, strip tension systems, and lubrication systems to maintain rolling capabilities down to 0.100 mm.

- Finishing Line Equipment: Ensure smooth mechanical operation of Roll Grinders, Tension Levelers, Stucco machines, multi-slit lines (China/Sudha), and Cut-to-Length (CTL) heavy shearing machinery.

2. Strategic Planning & Execution:

- Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Design and implement robust daily, weekly, and annual preventive maintenance (PM) calendars to achieve zero catastrophic breakdowns.

- Breakdown Management: Act as the technical lead to troubleshoot and root-cause major mechanical failures swiftly, executing permanent corrective actions (CAPA).

- Spare Parts & Inventory Management: Maintain optimal inventory of critical mechanical spares (gears, bearings, hydraulic valves, seals, and roll necks) to minimize Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).

3. Team Leadership & Plant Safety:

- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and allocate work to a team of shift mechanical engineers, technicians, and fabricators.

- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict industrial safety protocols (LOTO - Lockout/Tagout, hot work permits) across all mechanical execution and fabrication jobs.

Mandatory Candidate Profile & Experience:

- Industry Background: Must have extensive maintenance experience inside an Aluminum FRP (Flat Rolled Products), Foil, Sheet, Coil, or non-ferrous rolling plant (Candidates from general steel fabrication or light industries will not be considered).

- Technical Expertise: Hands-on expertise in heavy hydraulics, pneumatic systems, heavy-duty gearboxes, precision roll alignments, and metal-cutting/slitting machinery.

- Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

- Location Comfort: Willingness to work at and reside near our factory location in the Kheda / Matar / Ahmedabad region.
