Position Summary

The role is responsible for end-to-end plant materials flow and material management, covering daily warehouse operations, inventory control, inboundin-plantoutbound logistics, and direct people management. The incumbent will drive operational excellence to meet business objectives and Supply Chain KPIs while leading cross-functional initiatives at the plant level.

This position acts as a critical bridge between the manufacturing plant and the Supply Chain Centre of Excellence (CoE) for all planning-related activities including customer management, demand planning, production planning, and inventory planning. The role also focuses on building a high-performing materials organization through strong onboarding, capability development, and standardization.

Key Responsibilities

- Materials Management & Operations

- Lead plant-level materials operations including inbound logistics, in-plant material flow, outbound logistics, and warehouse management

- Own and execute daily operational planning to meet monthly SIOP targets

- Drive supply chain involvement in New Product Introduction (NPI) and production readiness activities

- Ensure on-time availability and flow of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods

- Act as centralized service provider to Regional / Global Supply Chain CoE

- Represent Supply Chain in plant review forums and operational governance meetings

- Ensure adherence to global supply chain processes and operational standards

- Monitor and improve plant-level Supply Chain KPIs including:

- OTTR (Overall, Customer, IAM)

- Premium freight

- Past due backlog

- MPS attainment & adherence

- Inventory accuracy, E&O, DOS

- Warehouse cost, productivity, and cycle count accuracy

- Lead warehouse operations, material handling systems, and logistics execution

- Internal Alignment & Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Drive deployment of enterprise business excellence frameworks at the plant

- Partner with plant leadership and cross-functional teams to execute:

- Strategic Deployment Plan (SDP)

- Annual Operating Plan (AOP)

- Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Finance, and Program teams for cost, cash, and service optimization

- Ensure compliance with applicable quality systems and supply chain processes

- Lead crisis management and recovery planning in coordination with Global Supply Chain and CoE teams

- People Management & Capability Development

- Provide solid-line leadership to the plant materials organization

- Own hiring, onboarding, performance management, and development of direct reports

- Create individual development plans (technical & behavioral) and succession plans

- Drive capability building, retention of key talent, and continuous skill enhancement

- Cascade team objectives and monitor performance against defined targets

- Standardize best practices in alignment with overall supply chain strategy

- Periodically review and update job roles and responsibilities within the team

Key Skills & Experience

- Prior experience in automotive manufacturing supply chains (OEM / Tier-1 preferred)

- Strong expertise in:

- Materials management

- Warehouse operations

- Inventory planning & control

- Experience working with ERP and planning tools such as SAP, WMS, o9 or similar

- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI

- Strong analytical, presentation, and communication skills

- Knowledge of quality systems and structured problem-solving methodologies

- Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent certification preferred

- Fluency in English; local language proficiency as applicable
