Role Overview
We are hiring a Head of Marketing for a leading retail brand operating in a fast-paced startup ecosystem. This role requires a 360-degree marketing leader who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution to build brand equity, drive growth, and scale marketing capabilities.
The incumbent will work closely with founders and senior leadership to align marketing strategy with business growth, customer acquisition, and long-term brand building across online and offline channels.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy & Leadership:
Own and lead the end-to-end marketing strategy across:
- Brand & positioning
- Digital & performance marketing
- Growth & customer acquisition
- CRM & retention
- PR, partnerships & offline marketing
- Define marketing vision, roadmap, and KPIs aligned with business objectives.
- Build scalable marketing frameworks suited to a startup-to-scale environment.
Brand Building & Visibility:
- Strengthen brand identity and storytelling across touchpoints.
- Drive brand awareness and preference through integrated campaigns.
- Own brand guidelines and ensure consistency across channels.
Growth, Performance & Customer Acquisition:
- Drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention through data-driven strategies.
- Own performance marketing budgets, ROAS, CAC, LTV, and funnel metrics.
- Optimize marketing spends for efficiency and scale.
CRM, Retention & Loyalty:
- Build and scale CRM and lifecycle marketing programs.
- Improve repeat rates, customer lifetime value, and loyalty metrics.
- Leverage customer insights to personalize communication and offers.
Offline & Retail Marketing:
- Drive store marketing, launches, activations, and local promotions.
- Ensure strong online-to-offline integration for seamless customer experience.
- Partner with retail operations to drive footfall and conversion.
PR, Partnerships & External Stakeholders:
- Lead PR, media relations, and strategic brand partnerships.
- Build relationships with agencies, vendors, and ecosystem partners.
- Represent the brand in external forums, campaigns, and collaborations.
Team Building & Stakeholder Management:
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing team.
- Collaborate closely with founders, sales, product, retail, and finance teams.
- Present marketing performance, insights, and growth plans to leadership.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
Must-Have:
- 8 to 16 years of experience in marketing leadership roles
- Retail startup experience is mandatory
- Proven exposure to 360-degree marketing (brand, digital, performance, CRM, offline)
- Strong understanding of consumer behavior and growth marketing
- Experience scaling brands in high-growth environments
Good-to-Have:
- Experience working in PE-backed or fast-scaling consumer brands
- Exposure to omnichannel or D2C + retail formats
- Experience building marketing teams from scratch
