Head - Manufacturing & Operations - Transmission Hardware

Role Overview:

Head of Manufacturing & Operations to lead our transmission hardware division based in Kolkata. In this strategic leadership role, you will oversee the end-to-end manufacturing lifecycle, ensuring that our production facilities operate at peak efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Direct all aspects of plant operations, including production planning, maintenance, and quality control, to ensure seamless manufacturing of transmission line hardware and adherence to project timelines.

- Spearhead process optimization and lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce operational costs, minimize waste, and enhance overall production throughput.

- Manage and mentor large-scale shop floor teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and technical excellence to meet stringent industry standards.

- Collaborate with procurement and logistics stakeholders to ensure a steady flow of raw materials and timely delivery of finished goods to power sector clients.

- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency and equipment uptime, providing actionable insights to senior management to drive strategic business growth.

- Ensure full compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations, maintaining a secure and sustainable working environment for all personnel.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale manufacturing operations within the power transmission hardware sector, with a deep understanding of production workflows and technical specifications.

- Proven ability to lead and inspire diverse teams, utilizing strong interpersonal and communication skills to bridge the gap between technical shop floor requirements and executive business objectives.

- Exceptional analytical capabilities, with a track record of using data-driven decision-making to solve complex operational bottlenecks and improve plant profitability.

- A strong educational background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, ideally complemented by a management degree from a premier institute.

- High degree of adaptability and a hands-on leadership style, comfortable working in an on-site manufacturing environment in Kolkata to drive daily operational excellence.

- Possession of 15 - 20 years of progressive experience in manufacturing leadership, specifically within the transmission line hardware industry.

Education:

- BE/B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

- MBA/PGDM from a reputed institute will be an advantage.
