Head - Manufacturing
To provide end-to-end leadership and accountability for manufacturing performance across multiple plants by driving Manufacturing, operational efficiency, cost optimization, process integration, and governance. The role will be responsible for ensuring predictable manufacturing performance, strengthening plant leadership, and aligning operations with business objectives under the COO structure.
Key Responsibilities :
1. End-to-End Manufacturing Performance Management :
- Own and drive plant-wise and consolidated manufacturing performance.
- Ensure achievement of production targets versus plan.
- Drive improvements in OEE, productivity, throughput, and capacity utilization.
- Monitor and improve OTIF (On-Time In-Full) delivery performance.
- Reduce rejection rates, quality losses, and process variations.
- Ensure stable and predictable output across all manufacturing facilities.
2. Manufacturing Operations Excellence (MOE) :
- Design, implement, and institutionalize a Manufacturing Operations Excellence framework across all plants.
- Standardize manufacturing processes, SOPs, and best practices.
- Drive loss analysis and elimination programs focusing on downtime, scrap, inefficiencies, and waste.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, and Productivity Enhancement initiatives.
- Establish strong review mechanisms, root-cause analysis discipline, and corrective action tracking systems.
- Ensure sustainability and replication of improvements across locations.
3. Financial Ownership & Cost Governance :
- Own key manufacturing cost metrics including :
1. Conversion Cost
2. Productivity Cost
3. Manufacturing Budget Adherence
4. Cost Optimization Programs
- Analyze plant-level cost drivers and implement corrective actions.
- Identify and eliminate operational cost leakages.
- Drive ROI-focused improvement initiatives.
4. Multi-Plant Governance & Performance Systems :
- Develop and implement a common KPI framework across all manufacturing units.
- Drive structured weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reviews.
- Benchmark plant performance and drive gap closure initiatives.
- Ensure robust MIS and dashboard reporting systems.
5. Process Integration & Manufacturing Standardization :
- Drive integration and synchronization across manufacturing processes.
- Standardize critical production processes across plants.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and best-practice replication.
- Reduce dependency on individuals through system-driven operations.
6. Capex, Automation & Productivity Enhancement :
- Evaluate and prioritize capital investments based on business impact and ROI.
- Lead automation and digitization initiatives.
- Ensure effective implementation of productivity enhancement projects.
- Drive project execution within approved budgets and timelines.
7. Plant Leadership & Capability Building :
- Mentor and strengthen Plant Heads and manufacturing leadership teams.
- Develop accountability-driven culture across manufacturing operations.
- Build succession plans and leadership pipelines for critical roles.
- Enhance organizational capability through structured development initiatives.
8. Cross-Functional Collaboration :
- Partner closely with Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Projects, Finance, Procurement, and Commercial teams.
- Ensure manufacturing priorities are aligned with business growth plans and customer requirements.
Desired Candidate Profile :
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Polymer, Chemical, or related Engineering discipline.
- MBA / Operations Management qualification preferred.
- 18- 25 years of manufacturing experience.
- Proven experience in leading multiple manufacturing plants.
- Strong exposure to process-driven manufacturing industries.
- Experience in PVC Pipes, CPVC Pipes, Building Materials, Plastics, Polymer Processing, Extrusion, Injection Moulding, Packaging, FMCG Manufacturing, Chemicals, or similar sectors preferred.
- Demonstrated success in Manufacturing Excellence, Operational Excellence, Lean Manufacturing, and Productivity Improvement programs.
- Strong financial understanding of manufacturing operations and cost structures.
