Description:
Role & responsibilities:
- The role will initially work with all the functions to develop the site, design the organization and operationalize it so it can build our high-quality products. Once the site is established, the role will lead all manufacturing operations, ensuring the safe, timely and efficient production of products.
- This role requires a strategic leader with a strong background in manufacturing, process optimization, and team leadership.
- Understand and execute the Manufacturing strategy, design of organisation structure, workforce planning, capability frameworks to drive productivity, efficiency and strong culture of safety and accountability.
- Lead and manage the manufacturing department, including supply chain, development build and test, operations and project management.
- Oversee statutory and regulatory approvals required as per Law including factory registration and labour compliance, engage with Government Bodies and Regulatory agencies, ensure 100% adherence to both local and global standards.
- Set up strong Governance mechanisms for project management milestone achievement, risk mitigation, track, measure and publish key metrics dashboards.
- Develop local SOPs (Standard Operating procedures) aligned to safety and Indian Factory Act requirements, covering quality, maintenance and operations. Liaise with local authorities to ensure smooth operations.
Key performance indicators:
- Alignment to forecasted production plans (on-time delivery)
- Manufacturing efficiency (throughput, cycle time, productivity, inventory turnover, quality)
- Quality of product and processes (first pass)
- 100% adherence to Regulatory compliance, labour law, EHS and environmental norms
Preferred candidate profile:
- Engineering Graduate (Mechanical/ Electrical or Industrial) with a masters degree in engineering/ Operations/ Business Management desirable.
- Strategic yet hands-on leadership able to balance long term vision, future trends with on-ground execution in fast paced, evolving environments.
- Good understanding of Local Laws, dealing with Local Authorities and Government interfaces
- Experience in developing and managing local suppliers and contractors, ensuring alignment with global quality, cost and delivery standards.
