- The SCM Head - Logistics will lead and own the end-to-end logistics and distribution strategy for a high-growth e-commerce business. This role is responsible for building scalable logistics networks, optimizing cost and service performance, and ensuring seamless movement of goods across inbound, mid-mile, and last-mile operations.

- The position will work closely with senior leadership, category teams, operations, finance, technology, and external logistics partners to support rapid business growth, enhance customer experience, and drive continuous operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Logistics Strategy & Network Design:

- Define and execute the overall logistics and distribution strategy aligned with business growth, customer promise, and cost targets.

- Design, scale, and optimize logistics networks including fulfillment centers, sortation hubs, line haul, and last-mile delivery.

- Lead capacity planning and network expansion to support demand spikes, peak seasons, and geographic growth.

End-to-End Logistics Operations:

- Own inbound, outbound, mid-mile, and last-mile logistics operations across e-commerce channels.

- Ensure high service levels through effective SLA management, delivery performance, and exception handling.

- Drive operational excellence across warehousing interfaces, transportation, and courier partner management.

Cost Optimization & Financial Control:

- Own logistics P&L, budgets, and cost optimization initiatives across transportation, warehousing, and fulfillment.

- Lead freight, courier, and 3PL contract negotiations to achieve optimal cost-service balance.

- Identify productivity improvements and automation opportunities to reduce cost per order.

Vendor & Partner Management:

- Lead strategic relationships with 3PLs, courier partners, line-haul operators, and last-mile service providers.

- Establish governance frameworks, performance scorecards, and periodic business reviews with partners.

- Drive continuous improvement and risk mitigation across the partner ecosystem.

Technology & Process Excellence:

- Drive adoption and optimization of logistics technology platforms (TMS, WMS, OMS, last-mile platforms).

- Partner with product and tech teams to automate processes, improve visibility, and enhance customer experience.

- Implement data-driven dashboards and MIS to track logistics KPIs, costs, and service metrics.

Customer Experience & Service Reliability:

- Ensure superior customer delivery experience, including on-time delivery, low RTOs, and efficient reverse logistics.

- Lead reverse logistics strategy, returns optimization, and refurbishment / re-commerce flows where applicable.

- Proactively manage disruptions and build contingency plans for peak events and operational risks.

People Leadership & Governance:

- Build, mentor, and lead high-performing logistics and supply chain teams across regions.

- Establish SOPs, compliance standards, and governance mechanisms across logistics operations.

- Ensure adherence to statutory, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or related discipline; MBA preferred.

- 12-18 years of experience in supply chain and logistics, with significant leadership exposure in e-commerce, internet, retail, or consumer businesses.

- Strong expertise in large-scale logistics operations, network design, last-mile delivery, and 3PL management.
