Head - Logistics & Operations - eCommerce

This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing and managing all logistics and operational activities across Indias e-commerce network. The primary objective is to ensure seamless order fulfillment, efficient supply chain management, and profitable operations.

The role involves strategic oversight of last-mile delivery, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution, while driving operational excellence across multiple functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations & Logistics Management:

- Develop and implement strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize e-commerce fulfillment and delivery operations.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance speed, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.

- Manage end-to-end logistics including inbound shipments, warehousing, inventory control, and last-mile delivery.

- Analyze fulfillment networks and recommend improvements for scalability, efficiency, and cost savings.

- Negotiate and manage contracts with courier partners, 3PLs, and logistics service providers.

- Collaborate with merchandising, sales, customer service, compliance, finance, and technology teams to align operations with organizational goals.

- Ensure adherence to safety, sustainability, and regulatory standards in all logistics activities.

Leadership & Financial Oversight:

- Recruit, lead, train, and mentor teams across operations, warehousing, and logistics.

- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and customer-centricity.

- Develop and manage budgets for logistics and operations, ensuring cost efficiency.

- Prepare regular reports on performance, cost control, and KPIs for senior management.

- Establish and track KPIs for order fulfillment, delivery timelines, inventory accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications & Competencies:

Education: Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. MBA preferred.

Experience: 10+ years in e-commerce, retail, or logistics operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

Skills:

- Strong knowledge of e-commerce supply chain, fulfillment, and operational best practices.

- Financial acumen and proven experience in budget management.

- Leadership, people management, and team-building capabilities.

- Proficiency in ERP, WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), OMS (Order Management Systems), and logistics technology platforms.

- Ability to scale operations in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
