Head Logistics & Operations
Qualification: Engineering Diploma / Graduation preferably with additional qualification in supply chain/logistics/operations.
Experience: Min 20 - 22 years
Key Responsibilities:
We are looking for a senior operation and logistic professional with 20+ years of proven track record in end-to-end supply chain, logistics, Import, export management, material planning & warehouse management and plant operations. This position will be responsible for maximizing process efficiency and productivity by setting up the right systems, processes, and organization. The candidate should have excellent people management skills. This position will play an important role in driving the companys long-term strategy and ambitious growth plan.
- Plan and implement overall supply chain and logistics strategy which covers inbound, outbound, Import, export and warehousing function.
- Managing de-centralized warehouse operations and handling 3PL service providers.
- Manage and develop a professional logistics team and motivate them to attain maximum efficiency.
- Streamline shipping process including import, domestic and export supply. Should be well conversant with Import and Export documentation and understanding imports and customs clearance processes.
- Experience of handling sales and dealer net business, Exposure of managing logistic function of sales-oriented company with business model of distribution through dealer & sub dealers.
- Regularize and optimize transport processes, handling transport service providers and managing service level agreements by negotiating best rates.
- Inventory management, material planning to meet inventory targets in terms of availability, number of days and ageing. This includes physical control over inventory and handling periodic stock count procedures.
- To set up and implement warehouse management systems with optimum utilization & efficiency.
- To lead and implement machine assembly set-up to meet MII requirements. Efficient management of assembly operations and related vendor management.
- Hands-on experience and good knowledge of ERP systems specifically SAP S4 HANA.
- Responsible & point of contact for CRSD (EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) Compliance and reporting activities.
- Represent at the global CSRD forum and coordinate with the global sustainability team. Coordinate with cross-functional internal teams for CSRD data collection, validation, and ensure quarterly reporting to Global Central CSRD team.
- Establish smooth communication and information flow with regions and dealers, internal and external stakeholders.
- Administration of tax, GST, HSN codes and other commercial issues related to logistics.
- Minimize supply chain costs and develop cost effective operations according to local and Group requirements.
- Develop good reporting and monitoring systems to track logistics performance by setting up KPIs according to local and Group requirements.
- Identify process bottlenecks and suggest solutions for process improvement.
- Benchmark best practices from the Group and industry and suggest changes.
- Responsibility for Health and Safety within the Warehouse/Logistics function. This includes the implementation of the Company Health and Safety policy and ensuring that Warehouse policies and practices are continuously reviewed to ensure compliance with current Health and Safety legislation and best practice and provide a safe working environment.
- Responsibility of upkeep of facility, regional offices, assets maintenance and management, with the help of service providers. Lead and implement facility expansion projects as and when planned.
- Along with HR department this position will be responsible for developing a professional organization by appointing, developing, leading, motivating coaching and training the logistics team. Leadership and people management is key to this position.
- To ensure good interpersonal relations with team members and other departments to ensure smooth business functioning.
Skills - Technical & Functional Competencies:
- Good written and verbal communication with high level of computer literacy.
- Experience in ERP implementation, preferably SAP S4 HANA.
- Solid experience of working in Inbound, outbound, and warehousing in professional setup preferably in a global sales-oriented organization.
- Solid experience in inventory planning.
