
Role Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned legal professional to lead the legal function for our premier real estate conglomerate based in Mumbai. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the primary legal advisor to the leadership team, overseeing the entire spectrum of legal affairs including complex litigation, corporate governance, and high-stakes real estate transactions. You will work closely with board members, external counsel, and cross-functional business heads to navigate the regulatory landscape, mitigate enterprise risk, and ensure the seamless execution of large-scale development projects. Your strategic oversight will directly influence the company's growth trajectory, safeguarding our assets and reputation while enabling sustainable business outcomes in a competitive market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct the end-to-end litigation strategy to protect the organization's interests in property disputes, consumer forums, and regulatory proceedings.
- Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and finalization of complex commercial contracts, joint development agreements, and land acquisition documents to ensure robust legal protection.
- Advise the executive leadership on corporate law, compliance frameworks, and statutory requirements to maintain the highest standards of governance.
- Manage relationships with external law firms and senior counsel to ensure cost-effective and high-quality legal representation across all jurisdictions.
- Lead the internal legal team by fostering a culture of excellence, providing mentorship, and streamlining departmental processes to support rapid business scaling.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated expertise in managing high-value real estate litigation and corporate legal matters within a large-scale conglomerate environment.
- Exceptional ability to translate complex legal risks into actionable business strategies for senior stakeholders and board members.
- Proven track record of navigating the nuances of RERA, land acquisition laws, and municipal regulations in the Mumbai real estate market.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and negotiate effectively with external partners and regulatory authorities.
- Possess an LLB degree from a premier law school, complemented by 10 - 25 years of progressive experience in the legal domain.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, on-site work environment, demonstrating agility and sound judgment under pressure.
