
Head - IT Procurement
Description:
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Procurement & Planning:
- Develop and execute the IT procurement strategy aligned to the organisations technology roadmap.
- Drive category management across software, hardware, cloud, telecom, infrastructure, cybersecurity, IT services, and AMC contracts.
- Conduct spend analysis, market intelligence, and risk assessments to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Vendor & Contract Management:
- Lead the vendor selection process, including RFP/RFQ development, evaluation, negotiation, and onboarding.
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, SLAs, licensing agreements, renewals, and long-term contracts.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with strategic IT suppliers while ensuring competitive pricing and performance.
- Oversee vendor performance metrics, contract compliance, and periodic audits.
Commercial Governance & Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, financial controls, legal guidelines, and cybersecurity requirements.
- Mitigate contract, operational, and regulatory risks across the IT supplier ecosystem.
- Work with Legal to draft and review complex technology contracts, MSAs, SoWs, and licensing documents.
Stakeholder Management:
- Partner with CIO, IT leaders, and functional heads to understand technology needs and prioritise procurement activities.
- Provide guidance to internal teams on procurement best practices, contract structures, and cost optimisation.
- Present procurement insights, savings reports, and vendor performance dashboards to senior leadership.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of procurement specialists/category managers.
- Drive a culture of strategic sourcing, process improvement, and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- 12+ years of overall experience with at least 8+ years in IT procurement/strategic sourcing.
- Strong expertise in software licensing models, SaaS/cloud contracting, IT services procurement, and AMC/renewals.
- Proven track record in vendor negotiations, cost optimisation, and managing large IT procurement portfolios.
- Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, enterprise applications, cybersecurity tools, and digital transformation priorities.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- Strong analytical, commercial, and contract management skills.
- Preferably MBA / Engineering / Supply Chain / Procurement certification (CIPS/ISM a plus).
