
Position Title: Head - IT Applications
Reporting To: Chief Technology Officer
Industry: Stock Broking / Financial Services
Location: Chennai
Experience Required: 14-20 years (with at least 5 years in a leadership role)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership & IT Governance:
- Define and execute IT application strategy aligned with business goals.
- Lead digital transformation initiatives across trading platforms and internal systems.
- Ensure compliance with SEBI, RBI, and other regulatory bodies.
2. Application Development & Management:
- Oversee development, deployment, and optimization of retail trading applications (web & mobile).
- Manage front-end and back-end systems for brokerage services.
- Ensure seamless integration with core systems (CRM, ERP, Risk, Compliance).
3. Infrastructure & Cloud Management:
- Supervise cloud platforms, server infrastructure, and data centers.
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of IT systems.
- Drive disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
4. Cybersecurity & Data Protection:
- Implement robust firewall and cybersecurity protocols.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents.
- Ensure data privacy and protection across all platforms.
5. Vendor & Budget Management:
- Manage IT budgets, procurement, and vendor contracts.
- Evaluate and onboard technology partners for trading, analytics, and support.
6. Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead and mentor cross-functional IT teams.
- Collaborate with business units (Operations, Compliance, Risk, Sales) to deliver tech solutions.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Proven experience in IT application leadership within broking or BFSI sector.
- Strong knowledge of trading platforms, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and agile methodologies.
