A leading India-focused Family Office is seeking an accomplished investment leader to drive investment strategy, portfolio construction, and capital allocation across public markets, private equity, venture capital, real assets, and alternative investments.
Role Overview:
As the Head Investments for the Family Office division, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing the investment strategies for discerning clientele. This pivotal role involves leading the entire investment lifecycle, from strategic asset allocation and portfolio construction to rigorous due diligence and ongoing performance monitoring. You will serve as a trusted advisor to family principals, translating complex market dynamics into actionable investment decisions, and ensuring their wealth objectives are met with precision and foresight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive investment strategies tailored to the unique risk profiles, liquidity needs, and long-term objectives of UHN family office client.
- Oversee the construction and active management of diversified portfolios across traditional asset classes (equities, fixed income) and alternative investments (private equity, venture capital, real estate, hedge funds) to optimize returns and manage risk effectively.
- Conduct exhaustive due diligence on potential investment opportunities, external fund managers, and co-investment deals, ensuring alignment with client's stringent investment criteria.
- Establish robust risk management frameworks and continuously monitor portfolio performance against benchmarks and client-specific goals, providing timely adjustments and strategic recommendations.
- Lead the investment committee meetings, presenting market outlooks, portfolio performance, and new investment proposals with clear, data-driven insights to family principals and internal stakeholders.
- Drive the integration of Family Office Operations best practices into investment processes, enhancing efficiency, transparency, and reporting capabilities for all managed assets.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with family principals, acting as their primary investment contact and ensuring clear, consistent communication regarding portfolio status, market developments, and strategic shifts.
- Mentor and guide junior investment professionals, fostering a culture of analytical rigor, continuous learning, and ethical conduct within the investment team.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated expertise in Portfolio Management, including strategic asset allocation, security selection, and risk management across multi-asset portfolios.
- Profound understanding and hands-on experience with Alternative Investment strategies, encompassing private equity, venture capital, real estate, and hedge funds.
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, coupled with the ability to synthesize complex financial data into actionable investment insights.
- Superior communication and presentation abilities, capable of articulating sophisticated investment concepts clearly and persuasively to high-net-worth individuals and family principals.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of building and managing high-performing investment teams and fostering collaborative relationships.
- A strategic mindset, capable of anticipating market trends, identifying emerging opportunities, and adapting investment strategies to evolving economic landscapes.
- High degree of integrity, discretion, and professionalism, essential for managing sensitive financial information and maintaining client trust.
- An MBA from a premier institution or a CFA charter holder is highly preferred, demonstrating a strong foundation in financial theory and practice.
