Roles & Responsibilities

1. Establish and Lead the Internal Audit Function in India

- Set up the internal audit framework, processes, methodologies, and reporting structures for the India business.

- Build, mentor, and manage a team of 2-3 Internal Audit managers.

- Develop a comprehensive audit plan aligned with business objectives and global audit standards.

2. Drive Audit Planning & Execution

- Conduct risk assessments to identify key operational, financial, and compliance risks.

- Prepare annual and quarterly audit programs covering manufacturing, R&D, supply chain, finance, and corporate functions.

- Oversee audits for ~60 contract manufacturing units, one R&D facility, and a major manufacturing plant.

- Ensure timely execution of audits with high-quality documentation and actionable insights.

3. Advisory & Strategic Support

- Act as a key advisor to senior leadership on governance, risk management, and internal controls.

- Provide recommendations for process improvements and help implement best-in-class practices.

- Offer strategic input on global and India-level audit initiatives, ensuring alignment with international audit standards.

4. Compliance & Process Assurance

- Ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

- Conduct compliance reviews for operations, financial reporting, IT systems, and quality processes.

- Work closely with the legal, finance, procurement, and manufacturing teams to strengthen controls.

5. Reporting & Stakeholder Management

- Present audit findings, insights, and risk assessments to the CFO

- Ensure transparency and clarity in all audit reports and follow-up mechanisms.

- Build strong relationships with cross-functional leaders to drive accountability and corrective actions.

6. Global Collaboration

- Coordinate with global audit teams on joint assignments, benchmarking, and knowledge sharing.

- Contribute to global audit methodologies, tools, and digital audit initiatives.

- Support global audits across regions as needed.

7. Continuous Improvement & Risk Mitigation

- Monitor emerging risks, especially in supply chain, manufacturing, R&D, and regulatory environments.

- Recommend automation and digitization opportunities within the audit function.

- Track implementation of audit recommendations and ensure closure within agreed timelines.

8. Travel Requirements

- Travel 20-25% annually across India and occasionally for global audit engagements.
