
Head of IT
Role overview:
Head of IT will lead the end-to-end technology and digital agenda for a 1,500 Crores company with manufacturing facilities and multi- channel presence in general trade, modern trade, e- commerce, institutional and export markets, ensuring secure, scalable and business- aligned systems. The role balances strategic roadmap ownership with hands- on governance of applications, infrastructure, data and cybersecurity.
Position details:
Title: Head - Information Technology (Head of IT)
Location: Bangalore (Corporate Office with regular plant/warehouse visits)
Business scale: ~- 1,500 Cr turnover, multi- plant, pan- India distribution, exports
Experience: 15-20 years in IT, with at least 5-7 years in a senior leadership role in manufacturing/consumer durables/FMCG or similar multi- channel environment
Reporting to: MD (preferred) / Promoters
Key responsibilities:
IT and digital strategy:
- Define and execute a 3-5- year IT and digital roadmap aligned to growth from 1,500 Cr to the next scale (e.g., 2,500-3,000 Cr), covering core applications, infrastructure, data and security.
- Establish IT governance, policies, annual budgets, project prioritization and KPIs, ensuring measurable business impact (revenue growth, margin improvement, working- capital efficiency, service levels).
Applications, ERP and process digitization:
- Own the ERP and key business applications (ERP (SAP 4 HANA, CRM, DMS/SFA, WMS, TMS, service management, export documentation systems) including selection, implementation, upgrades and integrations.
- Drive digitalization of end- to- end processes: order- to- cash, procure- to- pay, plan- to- produce, inventory and warehouse operations, service and warranty, finance and compliance, using workflow, low- code and RPA where viable.
Sales, channels and e- commerce:
- Implement and maintain robust systems for general trade, modern trade, e- commerce, institutional and export sales, including pricing, schemes, promotions, trade claims and key- account visibility.
- Ensure strong technology support for D2C website/app and marketplace integrations (catalogue, content, pricing, inventory sync, OMS, payment gateways, last- mile partners), and enable a 360- view of customers and channel partners.
Manufacturing, supply chain and plants:
- Support manufacturing and supply chain with systems for production planning, shop- floor data capture, inventory accuracy, quality management, and basic Industry 4.0/IoT pilots where relevant.
- Ensure reliable connectivity and IT/OT security across plants, warehouses, regional offices and service locations, with robust backup and disaster recovery.
Data, analytics and cybersecurity:
- Build a scalable data and analytics layer (BI platform, data models, dashboards) giving leadership real- time visibility on sales, margin, inventory, plant performance, service TAT and export performance.
- Establish and continuously strengthen cybersecurity (policies, tools, monitoring, incident response), including identity and access management, endpoint protection, backups and compliance with data- privacy norms.
Leadership, organization and vendorse
- Build and mentor an IT team suited to a - 1,500 Cr organization, covering applications, infrastructure, support and data/BI, while effectively leveraging external partners and managed services.
- Manage strategic relationships and contracts with major technology vendors (ERP/CRM, cloud, network, security, e- commerce tech, SIs), ensuring service quality, adherence to SLAs and cost optimization.
Required qualifications and experience:
Education:
- Bachelor's in Engineering/Computer Science/IT; MBA/PG in Technology Management is an advantage.
- 15-20 years of progressively responsible IT experience, with at least one full- cycle ERP implementation and significant exposure to sales and distribution, manufacturing and supply chain.
- Demonstrated track record of leading digital transformation or large application roll outs in a 1,000 Cr+ organization (or equivalent complexity), with strong business stakeholder management.
Skills and competencies:
- Strategic and commercial orientation, with the ability to translate business goals into practical technology initiatives and benefit cases.
- Strong project and change management capabilities; proven ability to drive user adoption across sales, commercial, finance, plants and service teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management; comfort working closely with promoters/Board and cross- functional leadership.
- High ownership, bias for digitization and continuous improvement, and a hands- on yet strategic leadership style suitable for a mid- sized, fast- growing company.
