
Role Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Industrial Engineering Head to drive productivity improvement, process optimization, and cost efficiency across manufacturing operations. The role will focus on enhancing operational performance through time & motion studies, line balancing, capacity optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Productivity & Efficiency Improvement :
- Drive initiatives to improve plant productivity and operational efficiency
- Identify and eliminate bottlenecks, idle time, and process inefficiencies
- Improve manpower utilization and output per resource
2. Time & Motion Study :
- Conduct time studies and work measurement across production lines
- Establish and maintain standard operating times (SOPs)
- Benchmark productivity standards and track adherence
3. Line Balancing & Capacity Optimization :
- Perform line balancing to ensure optimal workflow
- Optimize machine and manpower allocation
- Improve throughput and reduce cycle time
4. Process Improvement & Lean Initiatives :
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma practices
- Drive continuous improvement projects focused on:
- Waste reduction
- Cycle time improvement
- Cost optimization
5. Plant Layout & Work Design :
- Design and improve plant layout for better material flow
- Optimize workstation design for ergonomics and efficiency
- Reduce material movement and handling time
6. Cost Optimization :
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction in operations
- Support management in improving overall plant profitability
7. Data Analysis & Reporting :
Track key metrics like :
- Productivity
- Efficiency
- Cycle time
- Present insights and improvement plan to leadership

Candidate Profile :
Education
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Industrial/Production Engineering
- Certification in Lean/Six Sigma (preferred)
Experience :
- 12-18 years in manufacturing
- Strong exposure to appliance / consumer durable / engineering industries
Skills & Competencies :
Strong expertise in :
- Time & motion study
- Line balancing
- Process optimization
- Hands-on experience in Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to drive cross-functional improvement initiatives
Preferred Background :
- Candidates from high-volume manufacturing environments
- Experience in multi-product/assembly line setups
