
Job Title: Head of Human Resources (HR Head)
Location: Kolkata, India
Reports To: CEO/Managing Director
Position Overview:
The HR Head will oversee all human resources functions in the organization, driving people strategies and fostering a high-performance work culture. The role demands leadership in talent management, employee engagement, compliance, and support for scalable business expansion across retail outlets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute HR strategies and policies aligned with organizational goals, retail sector regulations, and best practices.
- Lead talent acquisition, onboarding, and workforce planning to ensure optimal staffing at stores and corporate locations.
- Oversee performance management systems including appraisals, feedback processes, and career development planning.
- Implement reward, recognition, and retention initiatives to maintain a motivated and productive workforce.
- Ensure full compliance with employment laws, labor regulations, and company policies, including POSH, PF/ESI, and HR audits.
- Manage employee relations, grievance resolution, disciplinary actions, and constructive conflict management.
- Drive employee engagement, welfare, and well-being programs, shaping the workplace culture and enhancing team morale across locations.
- Design and deliver training, capability-building, and leadership development initiatives tailored for retail teams.
- Oversee compensation and benefits administration, salary benchmarking, and statutory payroll compliance.
- Develop and monitor HR metrics, analytics, and regular reporting for leadership, identifying actionable insights for process improvement.
- Leverage HR technology-HRIS, ATS, digital onboarding, etc.-to streamline HR processes, improve transparency, and enhance employee experience.
- Liaise with operations, finance, and senior management to support growth, organizational change, and HR-related compliance.
- Foster diversity, equity, and inclusion through programs and policies that align with company values.
- Lead organization-wide HR transformation, including digital initiatives and cultural change programs.
- Oversee learning, and development programs that build capability and career progression.

Qualifications & Experience
- MBA/PGDM in HR or related field; minimum 12 years' experience in HR leadership roles in retail, consumer, or service sectors.
- Proven success in managing HR for multi-site retail operations and large teams.
