Description:

Role Overview:

- We are looking for a seasoned Head HR from Auto / Heavy Engineering / Manufacturing background to lead a large-scale plant consolidation initiative.

- The role is critical from an Industrial Relations (IR), change management, and business continuity perspective and requires strong leadership in managing unions, compliance, and workforce transitions in plant environments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and execute the consolidation of manufacturing plants, covering manpower restructuring, redeployment, and cultural integration.

- Own the Industrial Relations (IR) strategy across all plants, including union negotiations, settlements, dispute resolution, and maintaining industrial harmony.

- Handle plant-level IR challenges, during consolidation such as workforce rationalization, shift changes, role realignment, and productivity alignment.

- Ensure adherence to Factories Act, Industrial Disputes Act, Contract Labour Act, and other applicable labor laws during transition and post-integration phases.

- Drive change management and communication initiatives for blue-collar and white-collar workforce to ensure smooth transition.

- Harmonize HR policies, systems, and practices across consolidated plants in line with group standards.

- Act as the primary HR representative with labor departments, inspectors, government authorities, and external advisors.

- Support plant leadership teams in stabilizing operations post-consolidation with a strong focus on productivity, engagement, and compliance.

Candidate Profile:

- Senior HR leader with 20+ years experience in Auto / Heavy Engineering / Manufacturing organizations.

- Strong hands-on exposure to multi-plant HR operations, preferably in unionized manufacturing environments.

- Proven experience in plant consolidation, restructuring, merger, closure, or greenfield-brownfield transitions.

- Deep expertise in Industrial Relations, union management, and statutory compliance.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills with ability to handle sensitive situations.

Mandatory Requirements:

- Kannada language proficiency spoken & written (mandatory).

- Extensive IR experience in plant-based manufacturing setup.
