Experience : 12+ yrs of progressive HR leadership exp, preferably in Technology & Infrastructure OR large-scale project environments; prior exposure to emerging markets or greenfield setups is highly desirable
Education : Master's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field is preferred
Job Purpose:
To architect and lead the Human Resources function for our client's expanding footprint in Africa. As a critical business partner during this high-growth phase, the Head of HR will build a robust talent ecosystem from scratch-defining the HR framework, scaling regional operations, and embedding a high-performance culture. This leadership role is pivotal in driving agile workforce planning and localized compliance to unlock long-term, sustainable growth in a new geography.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greenfield HR Strategy & Governance: Formulate and execute a scalable HR blueprint tailored to African markets, aligning organizational design with localized business objectives.
- Strategic Talent Acquisition: Champion workforce planning and executive hiring to rapidly build cross-functional capability, ensuring operational readiness for regional expansion.
- Regulatory Compliance & Infrastructure: Establish foundational HR infrastructure, including localized policy frameworks, payroll systems, and HRMS, while ensuring absolute adherence to regional labor laws and statutory mandates.
- Performance Architecture & Upskilling: Design robust performance management systems and leadership development tracks to cultivate a future-ready talent pipeline.
- Organizational Culture & Employee Experience: Shape an inclusive, values-driven workspace by engineering end-to-end employee engagement, onboarding, and retention strategies.
- Ecosystem & Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with third-party staffing agencies, global employment companies (EORs), and outsourcing vendors to optimize workforce delivery and contract compliance.
- Total Rewards & Localized Compensation: Benchmark, design, and deploy competitive compensation and benefits structures aligned with local economic dynamics and market benchmarks.
- Geographical Leadership: Mentor and lead distributed HR teams across diverse territories, championing corporate social responsibility (CSR) and ethical governance.
